New Year's Eve in Copenhagen

Godt Nytår! That's Danish and means "Happy New Year". And that's about all I learned in this funny language while spending a few days with Gary in Copenhagen.

On our first day we went into the famous "Tivoli", a funfair right in the town center. It was great! The rides were fab and everything reminded me of a christmas market. Of course we had to have some Glühwein!

This ride was soooo cool! I was screaming everytime we went on it.

The next day the weather was not as nice and it was raining the whole day. So we set off in out raincoats and explored the city.

Stroget - longest shopping street in the world

Nyhavn - normally a very nice and busy place ... but not when it's raining!

The following day the weather was much better but it was still really cold. Wrapped into millions of layers of clothes we did some more exploring. We saw how Nyhavn looks when it's sunny and also went to see the queen's palace and the modern opera house.

Of course we went to see the town's landmark the little mermaid.

In the evening we had dinner in a restaurant on this really nice square. After that we went to the town square to watch the fireworks and celebrate into the new year.

On our last day we went into Christianshavn which is an island on the other side of the canal and looks a bit like a Dutch city. On that day it was very windy ... look at the waves!
